The Dream

Just before gettin' up from bed, I had this really peculiar dream. It was though my niece, who had been staying here with us since July, had seen a soul or should I say a spirit wandering inside our home. As of my niece's description of what she had seen, it was embodying a soul of a man standing just infront of our main comfort room.. Upon seeing something she may had refer to as a ghost, she, with all her might reached for the phone to call on anyone who could help her in every possible way.. But surprisingly, the line was dead.. Yet she overhears someone.. A guy, speaking over the phone saying.. "Anak ko yan! Anak ko yan"..

The Irrevocable Reality

I almost bursted into tears when I was ponderin' of that said dream.. Though at that time, I wasn't quite sure yet of what it had actually meant nor of what it had actually wanted to imply.. My senses brought me into thinking that the man who had appeared in the dream was actually my dad. For all you know, since we got bereaved from his demise, he had never failed to communicate with me in most of my dreams.. Well, yeah.. Those dreams had somehow played the role of a medium that connects the world of the living to the world beyond ends.. And the guy that my niece overheard on the phone who said those words italicized above was just the same guy who appeared here in our home.. It's as if my dad just used the phone as his way of getting into us what he actually wants to convey..

Curiosity drew me into inquisition.. Why did he suddenly appear? And what does those few words actually meant? Was it so urgent that he had to do every possible way he could just to communicate those simple lines?

Well, it's this simple..

My dad had fulfilled the promise he uttered long before.. I freshly remember him say "Pag may tumarantado sa inyo, babangon ako pra lng ipagtanggol kyo!", "Mahal na mahal ko kayo.. Ipaglalaban ko kyo by hook or by crook.. Legally or illegally!".. Awww.. I miss him so much..! He never failed to make me feel how dearly he loves me though he may not get to be here with us in person. And I bet he's just so proud to finally see me graduate and reap the fruits of his hardwork which he actually intended to provide for us a prosperous life..

Sa totoo lang.. Naiiyak pa rin ako everytime I get to remember the dream.. Masaya ako kasi nakikita at nararamdaman kong proud siya sakin.. Imagine, nagreact siya agad nung nakita niya akong nakatoga at nagpapagrad pic.. And all he could actually say was "ANAK KO YAN! ANAK KO YAN!".. haaay..

Papa, I love you so much and I am perfectly grateful for everything.. How I wish you'd be there with me when I go up the stage to get my diploma.. How I wish I could see you proud once again 'coz I've successfully accomplished another milestone in life.. But with the assurance that you gave me that you're immensely happy there getting to see all the achievements that I've actually attained, I have no right to ask for anything more..

And if there's one thing in life that makes me immeasurably fulfilled and happy.. It would be seeing you wear a smile and stand infront of everyone bragging with pride your daughter who will do anything and everything to earn our name respect, honor, gradeur and admiration..

I love you Papa.. I'll always be thankful you had been my dad! You deserve every single recognition there is in this world.. And with much pride I'd like to introduce my dad, Colonel Domingo Abrera Alzaga, to the whole world!! Certainly, you're still the greatest dad one could ever have!
