It's really remorseful that we only get to realize the person's beauty and purity of heart only when he/she already passes.. I've been wanting to write about HER a couple of days ago but I guess I still didn't have the courage to do so then.. I somehow thought many of us have already been featuring HER in our blogs and other social networking sites and for one I just chose to be different.. Yet in silence I keenly followed every speck of detail there was and will still be in her wake..

I was caught with awe as to how our fellowmen have been responding to yet another historical part of her life.. As her body was temporarily laid at the La Salle Greenhills gymnasium for a couple of days, tons of people took time out and went there to pay their last respects amidst the ravishing outpour of rain.. And while she was on her convoy, as she was transferred to the Manila Cathedral, a gargantuan pile of crowd swarmed and stormed the streets as they emanate their heartfelt empathy to the Mother of Democracy to whom they all owe their freedom from..

The Armed Forces of the Philippines and The Philippine National Police had their own share of Military Rites for their late Commander-in-Chief who had been in service with them for 6 years.. And these rites made her wake even more resplendent.. And thus, this stirred up the recent past experience my family had when my dad passed.. As you all know, my dad had also been in service of our country all his life.. He was a Retired Colonel and had been the Chief of the Traffic Management Unit of Marikina City for 4 years.. As I relive the Military Wake and Funeral that was granted to him, it got me to realize that it did have a great resemblance to our late former President's.. My dad's wake had also been graced by the Philippine Flag which enveloped his casket, soldiers came to salute him in his wake and interment, was given the Military Interment at 12 high noon with a Military Funeral band, and was given the Military 21 gun salute.. And as we were on his Funeral convoy to Loyola Memorial Park, the main roads were also blocked and counter-flowed so as to pave way for a smooth funeral procession for the family..

My dad also succumbed to Cancer a couple of years ago.. That's why whenever I get to encounter a servant of the country who may have gone through the same painstaking illness that my dad has bravely battled, I can't help but be deeply moved and whole-heartedly empathize with them..

A salute to all the brave servants of our country!
A salute to the Former President Maria Corazon Sumulong Cojuangco Aquino!
A salute to my dad Colonel Domingo Abrera Alzaga!
Kudos to all the patients who are courageously battling CANCER!
Long live Filipinos who'll die for the love of our country!
