What’s not to love about the Ateneo Blue Eagles when you’ve got star players moreso heartthrobs like Wesley Gonzales and Gec Chia, hot gunners and sweet-shooters like Larry Fonacier and Jc Intal, great ball handlers in the likes of La Tenorio, Macky Escalona and Olsen Racela, and twin-tower blockers Rich Alvarez and Paulo Bugia.. That’s definitely one hell of a gargantuan dream team! And today, I was AGAIN privileged to sit and watch the archrivals (ADMU and DLSU) battle their hearts out to earn and flaunt that prestigious school pride.. Well “privileged” for the fact that it had been years already since these sets of players had played with each other during their own respective time in the UAAP. And since then, everything was history.. The 1st ATENEO-DE LA SALLE SHOWDOWN which was held today at the Araneta Coliseum was graced by the following players in their own beloved college teams.. And the line-ups are as follows: For the ATENEO Blue Eagles: 5 Macky Escalona 6 La Tenorio 7 Jc Intal 15 Wesley Gonzales 17 Olsen Racela 18 Doug Kramer 33 Larry Fonacier Paulo Bugia Rich Alvarez Magnum Membrere Gec Chia Enrico Villanueva For the DE LA SALLE Green Archers 8 Joseph Yeo 9 Mac Cardona 18 Ryan Araña Ren-Ren Ritualo Mike Cortez Jun-jun Cabatu Carlo Sharma Adonis Sta. Maria Don Allado Mark Telan Owen Wilson Jay-R Aquino Here are the stand-outs for the said game: ATENEO - Wesley Olan Gonzales was a sure hit.. He scored most of the shots for his team. Moreover, this hottie inevitably exhibited his irresistible charm and charism throughout the ballgame stint. My sister even got attracted to him AGAIN.. And she was really grateful not to miss this once in a lifetime experience.. - Larry Fonacier was still undenied with his heart-thudding THREEs.. Still an ostentatious shooter from in and from the far-reaching side of the court. De La Salle - Joseph Henry Lim Yeo still has that oozing appeal that girls just couldn’t resist.. Haha : ) In fairness to him, he was able to make the lasallites jump up from their seats when he sank in those vital THREEs to keep up with the opponent’s lead. And in the deepest recesses of my heart, I still cheer for him.. hehe. But my heart still belongs to ATENEO. - Mac Cardona sparked their offense relentlessly with his power hooks.. He looks pretty cute with his new hairstyle than wayback when he was still bald-headed.. UAAP’s BEST DLSU and ADMU team indeed.. ; ) ![]() ![]()
